Bloomington, IN: Head of Area Studies Cataloging Assistant, Indiana University Bloomington

The Cataloging operations within the Technical Services division pertain to non-MARC metadata and traditional MARC cataloging of library resources in a variety of formats and wide range of languages. Cataloging staff actively participate in national programs including BIBCO, CONSER, NACO, SACO, OCLC Enhance, and National Enhance. The Libraries’ integrated library system is SirsiDynix Symphony.

The Indiana University Libraries seek a knowledgeable, innovative, dynamic, and service oriented individual to direct, coordinate, and manage the activities of Area Studies Cataloging, which is one of five sections in the Cataloging department.  Area Studies Cataloging is responsible for cataloging monographs in Slavic, East Asian, Middle Eastern, Central Eurasian, and African vernacular scripts.
