The Instructional Designer will work as part of a team to produce and support online and blended instructional content to meet MERIT and School of Education learning objectives. This position will also assist in the assessment and adoption of educational technologies and the support and training of others in their use. In addition, the Instructional Designer will work to embody a strong, proactive user-centered service ethic. The minimum salary for this position is $50,000.

Requirements:
-The ability to analyze and identify educational outcomes and transform them into professionally designed, engaging and effective online instructional materials using current instructional design principles
-Technical knowledge and skills in multimedia content creation and web-based applications
-Experience in supporting faculty with learning management systems such as Canvas (preferred), Moodle, and Desire2Learn
-Experience in supporting the integration of educational technology in a higher education setting including directly consulting with faculty and staff
-Experience designing and producing instructional content for use in an online or blended environment
-The ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds possessing diverse views
-Willingness and ability to work in a change-rich environment
-Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to pay strict attention to detail and meet deadlines
-Excellent writing and editing skills accompanied by strong oral communication skills
-The ability to work independently while actively collaborating with others

Desired Experience:
-Experience creating instructional content using Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Captivate or other similar content creation tools
-Experience developing or editing content in WordPress and doing other web-related development
-Experience hiring, supervising and training student staff
-Experience implementing Universal Design (UD) concepts
-A background in education
