The School of Social Work seeks to enhance human well-being and promote human rights and social and economic justice for people who are disadvantaged to achieve an equitable, healthy, and productive society, through five degree programs. The University Relations Specialist promotes the School’s programs, educational initiatives, and development/fundraising efforts, working closely with the Director of the School of Social Work, the Director of the Part-Time M.S.W. Program, the Associate Director and the Assistant Director. This individual acts as a resource for faculty, staff and students on media relations and promotional materials; assists with reviewing documents and presentations related to development activities; and edits division publications. The incumbent will need to consistently demonstrate the ability to build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships across campus, including staff from University Communications, the University of Wisconsin Foundation, the College of Letters & Science, the Wisconsin Alumni Association, and the Division of Continuing Studies. He or she will work closely with the School Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing School resource development activities related to alumni and fundraising.
