The University of Wisconsin–Madison Office of the Registrar is pleased to announce the search for a data specialist. This is a new position, created to complement an existing data specialist position on our staff.

Among many vital services provided to UW–Madison’s students, faculty, and staff, the Office of the Registrar manages an immense amount of academic data related to student records, grades, degrees, and courses. Many people depend on access to these data – and summary information compiled from them – to do their work.
The data specialist provides academic data and information to UW–Madison faculty and staff and to the public. Strong candidates for this position will know how to work with a variety of data formats and systems, be skilled at spotting and solving data problems, and recognize the strengths and nuances of superior data visualizations, reports, and datasets. It is a job requiring exceptional attention to detail, an appreciation for elegant, accurate reports, and the ability to be responsive to people with different levels of expertise.
The Office of the Registrar has a supportive and progressive working environment. We are a smart, collaborative staff of nearly 50, in modern office suites at the top of 333 East Campus Mall.
