Marion, IA: Teen Services Librarian – The Marion Public Library

Are you looking for a position working with youth at a busy public library in a growing community? The Marion Public Library is seeking candidates for the position of Library Assistant II – Teen Services to design, implement, and provide age-appropriate programming and initiatives to tweens and teens, including influence over and input on the library’s young adult material collections. The position requires providing regular direct public service. We aspire truly to serve all who approach us, whether that’s in person or via remote access.

With a new library building project in the planning stages and a rapidly growing service population, we are transitioning into a larger, more dynamic agency. The ideal candidate will have experience working with tweens and teens, an understanding of current public library research and best practices in modern library operations, a desire to create and manage change, and a deep interest in connecting with our teen audience through the local schools and the community. This position is full time (40 hours/week) and includes evening and weekend hours. Salary range starting at $37,747 annually commensurate with experience, and includes a competitive benefits package.
