Stoughton, WI: Adult Services Librarian – Stoughton Public Library

The Stoughton Public Library is seeking a full time (40hours per week) professional Adult Services Librarian to oversee operations of the Adult Services Department, including adult programming and collection development.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to schedule innovative and creative
programming, teach the use of the public library as a lifelong resource, help staff excel
in technological explorations, and consistently present the Stoughton Public Library
and its resources to the public in a positive manner.

This job also includes the opportunity for work with teens, grant writing, outreach, and
an opportunity to exercise creativity in traditional and technological library settings.

The work includes some nights, some Saturdays, and some Sundays.

Minimum requirements:
• Master’s degree in Library Science from a ALA accredited program
• One to three years of library experience with a background in adult services
work, or any combination of education and experience that provides
equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Computer skills including database searching, familiarity with Microsoft
Office programs, familiarity with eReaders, computer troubleshooting,
website maintenance, and social media
• Previous supervisory experience desirable
• Experience speaking to groups of people desirable
• Experience working with community groups and organizations desirable

Salary: Starting pay is $22.72 per hour / $47,257.60 per year, with excellent benefits.
