STANDARD HOURS: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MINIMUM STARTING RATE OF PAY: $16.94 per hour

Assist students, employees, and community members by answering computer and library-related questions and instructing in the use of library resources, circulate/reshelf materials and equipment, complete loan requests, maintain serials collections, send notices to patrons, and market through social media.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Maintain circulation desk to include checking out and assisting with materials and equipment, answering reference questions, updating patron information, and providing other library services. Open or close library at designated times.
• Assist patrons in questions/problems on library equipment including computers, printers/photocopiers, etc.
• Instruct patrons in using the discovery service, online catalog, electronic books, online videos, e-journals, article databases, and online practice tests. Perform Library orientation sessions as needed.
• Reserve, circulate, renew, and discharge books, equipment, and other materials. Check-in and shelve returned items. Schedule faculty requests for pick up at a later date.
• Run daily processes to email and mail courtesy/overdue/billing notices to patrons. Send annual department loan verification and record statistics for interlibrary loans and gate usage.
• Process interlibrary loans for patrons, keep records of loan transactions, communicate with other libraries and waiting patrons, and answer renewal questions.
• Collect print account payments and library fines, update patron accounts, and coordinate with Student Finance on fee waivers.
• Market the library through regular posts to college social media accounts.
• Process print and non-print library materials to prepare them for inclusion in library collections, contact publishers for missing issues, and perform annual record updates.
• Recommend library purchases and perform item catalog changes.
• Maintain order of physical resources and inventory the library collection using spreadsheets or mobile device.
• Take actions to halt disruption of library activities by problem patrons, as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years related library work experience
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Integrated Library System (ILS) circulation tasks (Sierra preferred), Interlibrary loan software (WISCAT preferred), advanced web searching skills, database researching skills, Chat Reference Software, MS Office Suite.
Call numbers (preferably Library of Congress classification), and library technology.
