Middleton, WI: Library Assistant I – Youth Services, Middleton Public Library

Immediate opening: The Middleton Public Library is seeking a Library Assistant I-Youth Services for 12 hours per week. The ideal candidate is innovative, creative, organized, loves working with all ages, and is able to easily adapt to an ever-changing environment. This person must work well in a team environment, be able to set priorities, make sound decisions and initiate projects. Main duties include: assisting patrons at the Help Desk; processing materials, creating/maintaining displays, collection management, and occasional programming; promotion of library services; interacting with patrons using social media tools; reader’s advisory; and collection development. At least one year of public library experience required, MLIS preferred. Experience with programming, knowledge of literature for children ages birth-18, and a desire to promote lifelong learning are required. The hours for this position are: Mondays 9-1,Thursdays 12:30-9, Fridays 2-6, and a rotating weekend (five week rotation.) $18.63/hour.
