Responsibilities: provide leadership for the library instruction program; collaborate with campus faculty to integrate information literacy into the university curriculum; teach and coordinate library instruction classes; lead new initiatives and keep current with best practices in information literacy and library instruction; address distance education needs; and provide outreach to the community. Also responsible for delivery of general reference service which may include evening and weekend hours.

Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS and three years of recent significant library instruction experience in an academic library; working knowledge of learning theory, instructional design and technology, instructional assessment, and course management software such as Blackboard; ability to mentor other librarians on teaching techniques, curriculum planning, and delivery of instruction; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; evidence of professional scholarship in library instruction and information literacy; and strong interest in campus and professional service. The successful candidate will also possess: expertise in the use of traditional and Web-based resources; ability to teach in a variety of settings and formats; strong commitment to public service and teamwork; ability to work collaboratively; familiarity with information technology and its applications in an academic setting, and knowledge of “best practices” in academic libraries. Salary dependent upon experience. Position available August 1, 2017.
