Job Description:
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Digital Humanities Specialist, in conjunction with the Digital Initiatives Librarian. The incumbent will build and maintain the library digital collections and support faculty, staff, and students to find innovative ways to organize and creatively curate research online. This position will be responsible for the digitization and interactive curation of digital collections and/or exhibits by using a variety of technologies and experiential online formats. The position will also create, edit, or enhance metadata for primary resources added to library digital collections which will require the candidate to have excellent researching skills. In addition to updating UNR Library collections to become fully digitized and curated online, this position will support library efforts to support digital projects created by UNR faculty and students.

Compensation and benefits: Salary range: $45,000-$61,677, DOE. This is a limited term, 2-year, administrative faculty position with continuation contingent upon funding and business need. It is full-benefits with health care and a retirement plan. 24 annual vacation days; generous sick leave policy; tuition benefits for self and family; no state income tax or FICA.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience OR Masters Degree and 1 year of relevant work experience. Relevant Experience: working in a library environment with digital projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
Work with metadata standards and schemas including Dublin Core, LC NAF, AAT, and LC TGM Experience with digital exhibit platforms and software including StoryMaps and Omeka Education or experience working with Nevada History and using primary resources Understanding of methodologies and tools used by digital humanists to collect, analyze, and visualize data
