The Madeline Island Public Library is in search of a Library Director. This is a full-time position, approximately 35 hours per week, some weekends/evenings required. In this role you will manage all operations of the library, implement library policies and projects, and provide leadership for improving public library service to the community.
The Town of La Pointe is located on Madeline Island, the only inhabited island of the Apostle Islands. These islands are located at the western end of Lake Superior, and Madeline Island is a 20-minute ferry boat ride from Bayfield, Wisconsin. The Town has a year-round population of 265 but swells to 3,000 during the summer months.
The right person will have a commitment to the mission and philosophy of public library service, excellent leadership skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with library board members, elected officials, employees and community groups, and will have the ability to recruit and work with library volunteers.

Position Working Title: Librarian I/II/III Title: Learning & Research Support-Fine Performing Arts Librarian
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Fine and Performing Arts Librarian reports to the Associate Dean, University Libraries, and serves the faculty and students in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, including the Departments of Art & Art History, Communication, Music, and Theater & Dance. Additional subject areas within the humanities and social sciences may be assigned as appropriate. The Fine and Performing Arts Librarian offers discipline-specific instruction, intensive discipline-specific research consultations, and discipline-specific reference assistance; serves as a resource for information on scholarly communication and copyright; and serves as a member of the libraries’ Instruction Team, with a focus on building students’ information literacy and research skills. The full breadth of the position’s responsibilities remains flexible and adaptable to new and emerging staffing models, schedules, and technologies.

Position Purpose: The Electronic Resources Librarian supports learning through the management of the life cycle processes for electronic resources. Responsibilities include managing the library’s electronic/digital content through an understanding of both acquisitions in multiple formats and all aspects of electronic resources management (i.e. subscription, licensing, maintenance and support, production and dissemination of statistics).
