Position Purpose: The Electronic Resources Librarian supports learning through the management of the life cycle processes for electronic resources. Responsibilities include managing the library’s electronic/digital content through an understanding of both acquisitions in multiple formats and all aspects of electronic resources management (i.e. subscription, licensing, maintenance and support, production and dissemination of statistics).

Essential Job Functions:

Manages all electronic resources processes (databases, electronic journal access, library OPAC, and e-books) including programming for the SFX link resolver system, troubleshooting journal access issues in ProQuest 360 Core, overseeing quality of records copy cataloged from OCLC, maintaining e-book batch loads, and working with the library proxy server.
Responsible for the system administration of all Voyager modules (acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, and reporter).
Gather statistics, extract and organize data, and create reports for print, electronic and digital library resources for assessment.
Supervise and train student workers who process library print materials.
Provide virtual and in-person reference service to a diverse student body as needed.
Essential Job Requirements:

Education:

ALA accredited master’s degree in library or information science.
Experience:

Demonstrated experience (relevant coursework accepted) in electronic resource management or technical services.
Two or more years of technical services or electronic resource management in academic libraries preferred.

Skills:

A collaborative disposition – Willingness to work with library colleagues in a rapidly changing information environment. Ability to work collaboratively with other campus departments and individuals.
Dedication to teamwork – We are a small department where each person contributes unique talents to the whole. Flexibility and acceptance of change are necessary.
Communicates effectively to student patrons, co-workers, and the campus community both orally and in writing.
Special Requirements:

Some evening and weekend work will be required.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
May include prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
