Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 1. Assist with the preparing, writing, and editing of auction lots. Work with specialists to catalog incoming inventory through identification, photography, measurements and condition reports 2. Provide administrative support to specialists and staff as needed, i.e. preparing consignment contracts and proposals, pre-auction phone calls or emails, phone and absentee bid entry 3. Handle client inquiries by phone, walk-in, and email. This may include: fielding calls from potential consignors and potential bidders, scheduling appointments for specialists, arranging telephone and absentee bids, executing condition reports 5. Execute telephone bids or otherwise assist staff during monthly auctions, this includes one working weekend per month The ideal candidate will: 1. Be an eager and quick learner, have the ability take instruction but also be able to work independently 2. Have strong written and verbal communication skills 3. Be able to work in a fast past environment with the ability to prioritize and switch between tasks as needed 4. Have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn auction software and online bidding platforms 5. Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 6. Knowledge and understanding of photography, lighting, experience photographing artwork/furniture/jewelry a plus though not a requirement 7. Have a good sense of humor This position is part-time with the potential to become full-time after a trial period
