North Dakota State University Libraries seeks collaborative and engaged candidates for the position of Social Sciences Librarian. The Social Sciences Librarian provides general and specialized research and consultation services, collection development, acts as liaison to academic departments, provides information literacy instruction, assists and does outreach about data management, actively engages in professional development and other scholarly activities, and completes other projects and duties as assigned.
DEPARTMENT: Carnegie-Stout Public Library ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $49,233 to $64,396
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Library Director, supervises all operations of the Circulation Activity and interprets library policies concerning the circulation of library materials and the collection of fines and fees; performs related work as required.
The UMass Amherst Libraries seek an innovative and dynamic department head to lead the Science and Engineering Library branch. Provide proactive leadership and oversight for programs and services that support teaching, learning, and research activities of students, scholars, and researchers across the university and beyond. Direct the development and implementation of new programs and services for the STEM disciplines. Collaborate closely on the Libraries’ instruction and research services, including information literacy, outreach, digital scholarship, interdisciplinary needs, information resources and assessment, with all relevant library stakeholders including but not limited to Research Services, Digital Scholarship Center, Scholarly Communication, and Information Resource Management.
Work minimum of 16 hours per week at busy reference desk. Assist patrons with computers and fax/print/scan, library catalog, meeting room & study room reservations, answer research questions, some circulation (check-out, place holds). Must be friendly, helpful, and comfortable with technology. Secondary tasks may include creating book displays, processing new items (using Koha system), and other general library work, dependent on experience.
