The Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) at Saint John’s University invites applications for the full-time, benefit eligible position of Rare Materials Metadata Librarian. This is a grant-funded position for up to 36 months with possibility of extension contingent upon available funding. The Rare Materials Metadata Librarian will assist HMML curators in creating metadata for digital and microfilm collections of rare manuscripts and books made available on HMML’s digital platform, vHMML Reading Room (www.vhmml.org). The metadata librarian will assist curators in identifying existing authorities in VIAF and LC for use in vHMML Reading Room metadata, as well as determining new authorities for authors and titles not found in VIAF or LC authority files, particularly those related to underrepresented manuscript traditions.
