Rutgers University Libraries (RUL) seeks a dynamic, creative, and experienced individual to provide strategic direction and leadership in the creation and management of non-MARC metadata. This newly created position reports to the Head of Central Technical Services (CTS), and the successful candidate will serve in a department that is actively engaged in meeting evolving information organization, discovery, and access trends. In collaboration with CTS colleagues and other library units, the incumbent will create, process, and manage metadata and associated files for RUcore, Rutgers’ institutional repository. RUcore content includes scholarship deposits as mandated by the University’s Open Access policy, and special collections and archival materials that will be managed in a forthcoming ArchivesSpace application. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in projects at the state and national level, and in grant-funded initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant University Archivist for Technical Services, the Digital Archivist is dedicated to the arrangement, description, and preservation of University records in both digital and analog form. The Digital Archivist’s primary focus will be to participate in the continued development and evolution of an electronic records program at the Mudd Manuscript Library. This work will include building on the current program for effective acquisition, appraisal, ingest, description, preservation, access to and security of born-digital and hybrid archival collections as well as the day-to-day management of the Library’s web archiving program. The archivist will be expected to remain current with emerging standards and professional best practices and be able to manage complex projects.

The Architecture Library, a branch of the Princeton University Library, seeks accomplished, energetic, and motivated candidates for the position of Special Collections Assistant IV.
Under the general supervision of the Architecture Librarian and working collaboratively with two other staff members, the successful candidate will manage the Architecture Library’s print journal collection; oversee the new Material Samples Collection in the Architecture Library; process reserves reading lists for the School of Architecture; fulfill and track internal and external requests for library materials; and provide circulation and reference assistance to library users.
