Milwaukee, WI: Project Coordinator, SWITCH Library Consortium

The interim Project Coordinator facilitates consortium activities and programs, with an
immediate focus on supporting the transition from the Koha ILS to Alma/Primo. After the
successful implementation of Alma/Primo the job responsibilities may change. This is a full-time staff renewable position contingent upon review of position needs.
Working collaboratively with the Systems Integration Specialist, the Project Coordinator will help member libraries meet deadlines during the Alma implementation and help resolve post-implementation issues. The Project Coordinator also provides help with ILS reports. A master’s degree in Library Science or Information Technology is required and some experience in academic libraries is required.

REPORTS TO:
SWITCH Library Directors Committee

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS:
Management & Systems
Manage procedures or practices relating to office operations.
Promote & assist with library system integration.
Effective and courteous communication with consortium staff, committees, and
vendors.
Prepare reports, statistics, and documents as directed or needed.
Lead annual budget planning and budgeting activities throughout the fiscal year.
Teaching & Learning
Consortium meeting facilitation.
Extend consortium communication capabilities like GoTo Meeting, Survey Monkey and
Google Docs.
Occasional staff consultation and/or training.

SHARED OFFICE TASKS:
Cross training with Systems Integration Specialist for backup.
Mail & correspondence.
Report generation.
Delivery management (SWITCH resource sharing).
Upload Committee minutes and documents to staff web site.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Familiarity with library platforms and other information technology tools.
Knowledge of MARC21 formats and standards for bibliographic and authority data.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and adjust priorities as needed.
Experience with user support, customer service, or project management.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written communication skills.
Ability to listen and respond positively to member library issues.
Ability to make presentations and work comfortably in executive meeting situations.
Ability to proactively grow one’s skill set in response to emerging technologies.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience with accounting and reporting processes.
Familiarity with the Alma/Primo ILS.
Experience writing SQL queries.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in library science or information technology.
Experience in a library or higher education environment & familiarity with their
technologies.
Complex project management experience.
Service orientation and customer service experience.Oral and written communication skills.
