The Oconomowoc Public Library has a job opening for a part-time reference librarian. Deadline has been extended and applications will be accepted through the City of Oconomowoc’s Human Resources page until Friday February 2 at 4:00 p.m.
Reference desk shifts are Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one weekend per month. Additional hours may be required/available. Pleasant atmosphere! Starting $17.58 per hour. Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college/university required or applicant must be a student currently pursuing an MLS degree. Madison, WI: Reference Desk Assistant (LTE), Wisconsin Historical Society

Major tasks of the position: Assist researchers in finding materials within the WHS Library and Archives. Answer general reference questions about the use, services, and collections of all campus libraries. Instruct patrons in the use and interpretation of various paper and electronic resources, including the Library Catalog, WorldCat, the Internet, and licensed journal and reference databases. Refer reference questions to WHS Library Reference staff when available. Assistance is conducted by phone, in person, and online. Researchers include students and faculty as well as the general public researching local and family history. Special projects as assigned.
